House in St Peters’ Square, Hammersmith

“Thank you so much indeed for the photobook. It is really wonderful with some fabulous photos. It reminded us of what a long way we have come and how you guided us so expertly through the whole process. Looking through the plans and the old photos made us so excited again and it was a real thrill to think about all the fun of it. We miss not coming to meetings where you would reveal the next batch of exciting plans! Thank you for all your work. You really did an amazing job and we are so lucky to be here in the house and so lucky to have worked with you.”

The clients  approached us after buying a Grade II listed Victorian house which was in a state of disrepair and divided into flats. They wished to return the property to a single dwelling for their young family.

This was the first time the clients had carried out a refurbishment project and so was a new experience for them and they asked us to be helped in the process.

We designed a new layout which allowed all the bedrooms and living areas to be re-sized whilst respecting the policies set out for a Grade II listed house.

A new rear extension serves as dining room and a faces a terrace which commanded beautiful views over the garden.

The many original features – such as the winding staircase, Victorian fireplaces and ceiling mouldings –  were repaired  and restored.

New lighting is designed to lit up the basement ceilings to visually enhance the height and to highlight features and bespoken joinery fullfills the storage needs of a modern family.

The result is a traditional interior with light modern touches.
