A weekend of inspiration is what we need to reboot ourselves. Milan holds an annual Salone Del Mobile event where furniture and lighting manufacturers can show off their newest pieces.
Colour trends this year were spicy like rusty orange, mustard yellow with greys, copper and matt golds. A noticable tribal influence was interlaced into the brands with woven fabrics and metals giving a complex but interesting finish. Colour was abundant and certain manufacturers layered lots of colours and textures creating an interesting and warm look – Bocci is a favourite , see our link to our latest completed project with Bocci pendant lights.
Here are some of the selection of items we loved, click over images for details.
We love the lighting collection from Album Lighting so much with their miniature handmade glass pendant lights that can be used both indoors and outdoors to enhance any space.
We are using Album lighting systems on some of our latest projects to light dining spaces, kitchen areas, terraces and bathrooms – they are mounted on very thin (almost invisible) cables across the ceiling or mounted from a single base point to create a beautiful cascade effect! www.album.it
POST BLOG NOTE – September 2017
We recently installed Album lights in the guest cottage for our Norfolk project. The lights were randomly installed amongst the timber black rafters in the roof as we wanted to create a flattering but resting light in the living areas. The lights can organised in any way you like – they can be grouped to gain stronger light or spaced out to create a more tranquil light. We introduced larger groups of lights in the kitchen area and stair area, as these areas need to be lit well. There were a smaller number of pendants in the sitting area tocreate a more relaxed atmosphere. The result can be seen in the post below if you want to see more:
