Graphic Africa

Graphic Africa, a small exhibition on the top floor of Habitat in King’s Road must be the best single thing I have seen at London Design festival this year.

It features various works by 16 leading African designers and is beautifully curated and designed by Trevyn and Julian McGowan of Source in Cape Town. The objects – furniture, glassware, lamps and textiles – have a powerful, yet poetic aesthetic and also suggest an alternative, more relaxed way of living: stools that are joint together, for a really communal dining experience, console tables that seems to want to escape the room and felt seats that will envelope the body in a warm and slightly rough hug. The graphic appearance of many of the pieces give interest to any space that need a strong but homely addition.

We just love it all! The exhibition, titled Graphic London will run till 20 October. Do not miss it!
