How to transform a new-built flat into a very personal space

Our clients bought an apartment on the 18th floor of NEO Bankside overlooking the Tate Modern and the River Thames. It was new and sharp, in the usual developer’s style: white walls, light timber floors and branded kitchen.

The couple loved the views and central location. But they did not feel at home. They asked for our help to infuse their new home with “life and warmth”.

Our interior project introduced new materials and colours. They balance the building's high-tech details and complement the clients’ art. They also frame the spectacular views.

We designed bespoke panelling in applewood for the cloakroom’s walls. It bring warmth in to the windowless rooms and hides useful storage.

An oversized round mirror, like a stylised crescent moon, is offset from the wall and lit along its perimeter.

blue walls and indigo ink blue graphic curtains give a grand entrance to the master ensuite

We painted the partitions between the bedroom, bathroom, and dressing room the same indigo blue as the curtains. It is a perfect background for the art pieces.

The husband also commissioned us a wall-to-wall unit for the his collections of LPs and guitars. Every detail of this piece was fine-tuned with the client and the joiner. The room has a beautiful view of the Shard and has now become a very special and much-loved music room.

The project transformed the apartment into a home. There is now talk of changing the open living area. The clients asked us to replace the white glossy kitchen with a custom-design. They also want to change the triangular veranda into a winter garden and dining room.
